January 2015
Stasi Brothers was excited to be at the Mid Atlantic Nursery Trade Show (MANTS) this past week. We were able to see some our suppliers and their new products for 2015. Nicolock Paving Stones had a beautiful booth with their very own racecar! We were able to see Cambridge Pavers and their new colors, Redrock Blend and Montauk Blue. Very excited to lay these colors down for the new 2015 season and we already reserved the first orders. Techo Bloc had their new Borealis wood imitation pavers. You get the look of the wood decking but the strength and maintenance free qualities of the concrete pavers. You have to see it to believe it! We stocked up on all the new brochures and samples so come in and be one of the firsts to pick and install colors, designs and styles that none of your neighbors have!

We were also able to meet with our natural stone suppliers and inspect their new batch of bluestone flagging and threads. We were also looking into their new stock of natural stones such as Rainbow, Brown Wave and Teakwood. Look for our new updated display!

We are proud to be able to attend these shows, seminars and classes so we can continue to stay an industry leader and provide our customers with the most up to date information in the field. With Stasi you do most of these jobs once in a lifetime so make it count!

January 2015
We had our annual Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training seminar. Over the course of two weeks we had all our employees come in and learn about the hazards that can come with working in this field and how to prevent any accidents. SAFETY FIRST!

At Stasi we are like a family and are concerned about the safety and well-being of one another. You don’t just get an employee coming to work on your job, it’s another loyal Stasi team member!

The Stasi Brothers crew in attendance at the World of Concrete 2014!
We were thrilled to be at the World of Concrete show in Las Vegas Jan 21-26. We were able to see all the new product lines and technology for the coming year. We were also able to meet face to face with a lot of our suppliers and trades that we work with throughout the year. We gathered and are implementing a lot of items that we have seen at the show. This means we will be able to serve our customers even better than before!

Stasi Brothers announces the groundbreaking of construction on our new State of the Art Office Headquarters.
We have been in the same location for over 40 years and after trying to work out of our continuously upgraded and retrofitted original office, we finally found a suitable location across the street from our original location to move our offices. As a provider of high quality, reasonable and friendly work we have been continuing to grow exponentially and wanted to grow our offices to meet the need and provide even better service for our customers. Our new facilities will double the size of our current office and in following some LEED guidelines will try to keep our energy usage the same or lower. We will also have our own personal showroom detailing all our work. Stay posted for updates.

ALL CONTRACTORS AREN'T CREATED THE SAME!

Some people fail to realize the fact that when you are making a investment in your home and having major renovations done, every contractor is different.

Factors such as experience, training of staff, treatment of employees, quality of tools and equipment to work with, relationships with the manufacturers and other criteria weigh in on the quality and type of work that you receive.

The detail and quality of work will vary greatly from mason to mason. Stasi Brothers has been in business for 50 years and we strive to perfection. We train all our employees to give and create the best job possible.

We go to seminars and training every year to make sure we are up to date with the newest trends and technology. We keep our equipment new and serviced regularly to avoid breakdowns and time loss.

This has made us the number 1 (one) asphalt and mason contractor on Long Island. You can drive through Plainview or Syosset and still see a stoop we had done 40 years ago still holding strong. Drive thru Levittown and Jericho and the driveway we had put down 20 years ago still looks great.

Don't hesitate to ask questions and make sure everything is explained to you. This is an investment you should make only a few times in your lifetime and you want to make sure you get it right. Call Stasi Brothers to get the job done and designed right the first time!

As I drive around Nassau and Suffolk counties, I see jobs that make me wonder how people let pass. I take pictures to show what to watch out for. Here are just a few small examples of how jobs can be done incorrectly or designed horribly wrong. It also shows how people can use low grade or low quality material and mess up even a beautiful job.

Your asphalt driveway will give you many years of service. Stasi Brothers recommends avoiding the following:

  • Turning your wheels while stopped on the blacktop within the first month. This can cause a crease or depression in the asphalt.
  • Parking heavy objects for extended times. If you must park a camper for instance, place a piece of plywood on the driveway first.
  • Lawn furniture, high heels, jack stands, BBQ's, kick stands and car ramps will all sink into the surface and should be avoided. If needed just simply put a piece of wood underneath.
  • Heavy vehicles of all types should be avoided. Garbage trucks and oil trucks are most frequent offenders.
  • Chemicals of all types should be avoided. Gasoline, diesel fuel, oil, antifreeze and harsh cleaners will dissolve the asphalt.

*Remember that your driveway is softer in warm weather and this is the time to be more cautious.

Due to all the snow, the ice melting and the freezing temperatures at night many asphalt and concrete products across Long Island and NYC have damaged. You have potholes, cracking, lifting, etc. It is normal in these conditions and can be repaired. Please call us at 516-997-7283 for an evaluation to get your parking lot or driveway back in shape!

We proudly serve Nassau and Suffolk Counties as well as Queens, Brooklyn, Bronx, Manhattan and Staten Island. Call the best in the asphalt industry, Stasi Brothers Asphalt!
